A mountain getaway is just what this family needed after 2 weeks of home improvements (punctuated by birthday festivities!)

How could it be that we had never been to the top of “Mt. Doug” after living here nearly all our lives?  It was a perfectly beautiful day and all the little legs climbed with gusto.

And a stop at the mailbox brought delights from afar for our Eli!  Sweet cousin Eden sent a postcard with a young lad sporting the traditional Bavarian lederhosen.  “Hey- this boy has shorts like mine!” It’s true- he looked hilariously familiar.  Getting mail is a rare treat these days- this was a hit indeed.

We’ve had some hardworking busy times around here and we taking a much-desired staycation this week. “Stay”-tuned for updates and photos as we savour the last couple weeks of summerloving!
